South Point was established in 2003 and is headquartered in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. It acquires and redevelops distressed and underutilised inner city properties to provide affordable, convenient accommodation to students and employed young urban graduates. Its growing portfolio already comprising more than 40 buildings provides accommodation to 10 000 students and is the largest provider of private student accommodation in South Africa.
Subsequent to LMCGF exiting South Point, Lereko acquired 15% shareholding in South Point in November 2015. Cedrick Mampuru serves as non-executive director of South Point.
