In November 2005, Lereko led a broad based empowerment consortium, Dinokana Investments, in a transaction to acquire a 7% share in Sun International valued at R604 million. Sun International is Africa’s most significant tourism, leisure and gambling group.

In line with Lereko’s philosophy to allow for community participation, a majority of the consortium ownership is held by the Sun International Group's staff, surrounding communities and black business groupings with a focus on the participation by people of the North West Province. The long term nature of the transaction will ensure that sustainable benefits transfer to all parties within the consortium.

Lereko holds a 28% share in Dinokana Investments and the team seeks to contribute leadership and experience to their investment. Dr Popo Molefe served for two successful terms as premier of the North West Province and Chairperson of the ANC in the North West, bringing strong links to the communities involved. Having served as Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Valli Moosa brings a wealth of relevant knowledge to the Sun International Board while Dr Lulu Gwagwa adds experience in transformation and sustainable development.
